This has been a super crazy week!

Okay before I get started, let me make sure I have everything! Coffee...check,headband( I have to be able to see the little words without interruption)...check,glasses(without those I can't even see the monitor)...check,and my daughter is satisfied for the moment. Now I can tell you my tale of the broken princess(LOL).

On Sunday, we went to church like we always do. Then Danny made lunch ,while I had my media shout nappy, and then we ate like starving folk like we do every Sunday. After dinner, the little girls went out to play on the trampoline . They played for a few hours having a grand time. Then Ash fell onto Auttie's leg. She never screamed or yelled. She cried when it hurt and she couldn't raise herself with that arm. Auttie came to us and said,"Ash is crying she hurt her arm." Danny ran outside to check on Ash and she was just sitting there in the middle of the trampoline, crying. He brought Ash to me and her arm was just a little swollen near the wrist. We put ice on it to see if the swelling would go away;but the longer she sat there, the more it hurt her. The emergency room visit revealed a broke arm (the radius just 3 inches above her right wrist). They gave her lortab elixir , a splint , and gave us the number to one of the best orthopedic doctors in Lexington. We called the office of Trevor Wilkes MD as soon as they opened. I made Danny stay home from work that day just to help me take care of Ash and Kat. Auttie went home Monday (it was time ,had nothing to do with the accident) But I digress ... The Ortho couldn't see Ash until 8am the next morning. My poor baby had to contend with that splint all day Monday. I sent Kat to her grandmother so that she wouldn't start feeling jealous because of the attention Ash was getting with that broken arm. Kat needed a break from me anyway... not like she wasn't rushing us to get her there(LOL).

On Tuesday I took Ash to Dr. Wilkes. She fell asleep in the room while waiting on him to come in to see her. When the doctor came in he immediately won Ash's affections by asking to see the Princess' broken arm. He called her "princess" through the entire appointment. He even called an order down to the casting and splinting for the Princess Ash... She loved it. Then we had  an animated discussion about what color she would have on her cast. I know it is her arm and should be her decision. But  I wanted her cast to still look clean and reasonable when school starts on the 11th. She wanted a glow in the dark off-white. I told her she could have that for her 2nd cast. But I needed to have another color (a stay clean or hide the dirt color) for the first cast. The princess got a hot pink cast. She still wants that glow in the dark cast, and she will get it in two weeks.

Now we are taking it easy and making sure she has no more pain than necessary. Along with trying to get all the swimming in we could and they wanted to bounce on that trampoline every evening, they kept me busy having all kinds of summer fun. Then we've been busy taking care of that broken arm. It has been crazy, crazy, craaaaaazy. Finally, I am glad school is starting back. Maybe that will calm things down around here... eventually.
